I took the Project Management class and was able to immediately apply what I learned to home renovation projects I’m currently working on. John, our instructor, was insightful, engaging, and brought real-world industry experience that made the content relatable and easy to grasp. He listened to students’ concerns and offered helpful, practical examples that made a real difference.

“This winter marked my second Python course through the Saturdays in the D program. Over the past eight months, I’ve made a complete career change, and while I was nervous at first, these classes have really confirmed that I made the right decision. Each course has boosted my confidence, and I’m now genuinely excited to continue on this path, earn my official certification, and see where this journey into tech takes me.

I found out about the program on a whim and wasn’t sure what to expect—especially since it was a more advanced Python course. But when I arrived, there were about 14 or 15 of us, all working toward similar goals. That sense of shared purpose created an unexpected but powerful bond. In a big city like Detroit, it’s rare to find a space where local folks are coming together to learn something like Python. Usually, you only hear about tech through online spaces, but being in a room with other Detroiters passionate about breaking into tech was inspiring. It’s not something you stumble upon every day, and I really valued that sense of community and motivation we shared. I genuinely enjoyed the experience and look forward to what’s next.”

“The course provided the foundation that I didn’t know I needed: Trust certificate, Apps that I needed (and why I needed them), What’s legal and not legal activity in this space. I thought that the class would only provide you with an opportunity to fly a drone. I was completely surprised with the depth of knowledge and expertise what was shown. And I got certified to boot. What’s not to like. My drone is out of the box, my certificate is coming and I’m loving it. Kudos to the team!!”
